A 26-year-old man was shot and killed during an altercation Sunday with a woman he was visiting, Tucson police say.

About 8:30 p.m. Josiah Bee-Reece was found wounded in a courtyard in the 3000 block of North Cherry Avenue, near East Glenn Street, police said in a news release. He died at the scene.

"Mr. Bee-Reece was at the house to socialize with the resident," the release said. "The two had an altercation inside the residence. As the altercation escalated, the resident fired one round at Mr. Bee-Reece, which struck him."

No charges were immediately filed in the unidentified 36-year-old woman who fired the shot, police said. However, police said the result of their investigation will be presented to the Pima County Attorney's Office for possible prosecution.
