What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is β€œbelled.”

Last week’s recipient: Carmen Gonzalez.

Why: For the kindness she shows to her customers at the cafe in the University of Arizona College of Medicine. β€œShe makes each person feel like they are the most important customer,” Ascher wrote in her nomination form. The cafe is the first stop for many in the building, and Gonzalez always greets them with a smile and kindness, Ascher wrote.
