An 18-year-old man was shot and killed Sunday afternoon in a gunfight during an alleged drug deal, Tucson police say.

Manuel Phillip Navarro, 19, is accused of fatally shooting Braden Johnson Begay during a drug deal Navarro arranged at an apartment complex in the 200 block of West Blacklidge Drive, west of North Oracle Road, Tucson police said in a news release.

Police say both men were armed and shot at each other during a confrontation.

Begay died at the scene. Navarro was wounded and was found later at a nearby apartment.

After being treated for his wounds at a hospital, Navarro was booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of first degree murder, having a gun during a narcotics offense and armed robbery, the release said. Bond was set at $1 million.
