A man suspected in the killing of two people in Tucson in October 2023 will be extradited from California to face charges here, Tucson police said.
Ryan Jacob Blouin, 35, is suspected in the Oct. 11, 2023 fatal shooting of Courtney-Ann Kanani Pregil, 37, and Tylor James Wheeler, 32, whose bodies were found inside an unoccupied apartment in a complex in the 1200 block of West Ajo Way, the Tucson Police Department said Tuesday in a news release.
Blouin, an acquaintance of Wheeler's, was identified as a person of interest early in the investigation. In January 2024, Blouin was arrested on unrelated federal charges and incarcerated in California, the release said.
"In September 2025, while detectives continued to follow up on leads, Blouin admitted to being involved in the case. After an interview with TPD detectives, he was confirmed as the primary suspect in the double homicide."
Blouin remains in federal custody while awaiting extradition.
