Tucson police have identified a 46-year-old man who was killed early Friday when gunfire erupted during a brawl.

Aaron Taber Boatner was killed and two other men were wounded in the shooting that occurred during a fight just before 4 a.m. near North Stone Avenue and West Speedway, Tucson police said Saturday in a news release.

The first person officers found wounded was an unidentified 57-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries, the release said.

Officers then found Boatner nearby. He died at the scene despite life-saving efforts, the release said.

Officers circulating the area then found a third man who had been shot near a home on North Sixth Avenue, the release said. That unidentified 44-year-old man had been shot in the lower extremities and was taken to the hospital where he remained in stable condition, the release said.

Investigators say there was an altercation involving multiple people when someone opened fire, striking Mr. Boatner and the 57-year-old man.

The gunmen left the area, but as they passed the North Sixth Avenue house they argued with the 44-year-old man then shot him, the release said.

The gunmen fled before police arrived.

The investigation continues and no one has been arrested.
