What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is “belled.”
Last week’s recipient: Dr. Raymond Graap.
Nominated by: Dr. Keith Kaback.
Why: Dr. Graap is the volunteer medical director for Clinica Amistad, a free clinic staffed by volunteers who provide medical care to members of the community who otherwise receive no care at all. Graap is dedicated to the clinic and the patients it serves, Kaback wrote in his nomination letter. He devotes countless hours directly to the patients and to the administrative functions of the clinic, allowing the clinic to improve and expand its services despite its limited resources, Kaback wrote.
