University of Arizona Police are searching for this male suspect who allegedly assaulted a police officer.Β Β 

University of Arizona police are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a man who reportedly assaulted an officer, authorities say.Β 

On Oct. 26, UAPD was investigating a report of a man attempting to steal a bicycle at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Building on campus, near the 1200 block of east Speedway, according to a press release from UAPD.Β 

The person who reported the incident said the man boarded a Sun Tran bus.

When police stopped the bus, the man got off and fled.Β 

When an officer caught up to the man north of Speedway, the two struggled and the man kicked the officer in the face, according to the release. The man then ran into a nearby neighborhood.Β 

Additional officers searched for the man but he was not found.Β 

The officer suffered minor injuries.Β 

The suspect has been described as being around 30-years-old, standing around 5'11'' and weighing 160 pounds.Β
