Police are searching for a 21-year-old man after his live-in girlfriend was found dead in their midtown apartment, officials say.
Family members broke in to the couple’s apartment Sunday night several hours after they were unable to contact 18-year-old Rosaura Hernandez, Sgt. Pete Dugan said in a news release Sunday.
They found Hernandez unresponsive and police declared her dead at the scene.
Earlier in the day, Hernandez told family members she was fighting with her boyfriend and asked for a ride from their apartment in the 1200 block of South Craycroft Road.
A family member arrived minutes later but their was no answer at the door. About 7 p.m. officers went to the apartment but there still was no answer. About two hours later officers were called back when they learned family members had forced their way inside the apartment.
Police are searching for Joshua Hilaire, 21, who is wanted on an arrest warrant for first degree murder count.
