A 47-year-old man was shot and killed during a traffic dispute with another driver Friday evening on Tucson's south side, police said.

The shooting happened about 5:45 p.m. Friday when two armed motorists argued "over an incident that occurred in the roadway" while they were stopped at a red light near South 12th Avenue and West Ajo Way, police said Sunday evening in a news release.

One of the drivers, an unidentified 21-year-old man, fired his gun, mortally wounding Eliseo German, the release said. German was later declared dead at the scene.

The 21-year-old driver called 911 after the shooting and was located by police nearby, the release said.

The investigation continues. Once completed, it will be presented to the Pima County Attorney’s Office for review, the release said.

Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME, the anonymous tip line.

It was the second killing in a Tucson-area road rage incident in the last week.

On Thursday, a 77-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder in a fatal road-rage shooting on Tucson's southwest side.

And on Saturday, a 53-year-old man was shot and killed in a road rage incident in Sierra Vista.
