Linebacker Justin Flowe, left, gets the formation straight as the defense lines up to face the offense in a drill before the Arizona Wildcats’ preseason scrimmage at Arizona Stadium on Aug. 12, 2023.

Week 4 of Arizona's spring football practice schedule wrapped up on Saturday at Arizona Stadium, marking one week until the Wildcats' spring game.

Here are notes and takeaways from Arizona's dozenth practice Saturday morning:

* Arizona star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan exited practice with a leg injury, but walked to the locker room on his own power. McMillan's status will be monitored on Tuesday.

* Saturday was a productive day for Arizona's linebackers. Redshirt junior Justin Flowe had arguably his best practice of the spring. Flowe has been arguably the Wildcats' top blitzing linebacker and the Chino, California native, who transferred from Oregon last spring, parlayed his athleticism, explosive hitting and run-stopping ability into a blitzing role. As a linebacker rushing off the edge, Flowe blew up freshman running back Jordan Washington, then batted down a pass later in practice. Flowe, who has multiple sacks this spring, pressured Arizona's quarterbacks several times on Saturday.

* Due to a hand or wrist injury, linebacker Jacob Manu was limited on Saturday, so second-year linebackers Taye Brown and Kamuela Ka'aihue started. Brown had an excellent practice on Saturday. Brown pressured Arizona's quarterbacks and made multiple tackles at the line of scrimmage. Arizona's linebackers and defensive backs have blitzed a considerable amount in comparison to last season under former defensive coordinator Johnny Nansen.

* Arizona left tackle Raymond Pulido missed his third straight practice with a leg injury. Third-year left guard Wendell Moe missed his first practice and was sidelined on Saturday. Redshirt freshman Rhino Tapa'atoutai started at left tackle once again, with walk-on Zarius Wells, a 6-6, 305-pounder from Chandler, taking reps at left tackle with the second-string offensive line. Arizona's starting offensive line on Saturday was Tapa'atoutai, Wells at left guard, center Josh Baker, right guard Leif Magnuson and right tackle Jonah Savaiinaea.

* Arizona nickel back Treydan Stukes started at cornerback during the first 7-on-7 period, with sophomore Genesis Smith at "Star."

* Reserve defensive lineman Julian Savaiinaea, brother of Jonah, recorded a fumble recovery during a team period on Saturday. Defensive tackle Keanu Mailoto sacked quarterback Brayden Dorman.

* Redshirt freshman running back Brandon Johnson, who didn't see any game action last season, had multiple runs of 15-plus yards.

* Wide receiver Malachi Riley had a nifty jet sweep run that resulted in a first down.

* Tucson native and former Sabino High School star Nezayah Stubblefield had a pass breakup during a team period.

* During Arizona's field-goal period, backup kicker Cash Peterman made three of four kicks, including a 41- and 44-yarder. Starter Tyler Loop made a 51-yard field goal off the right hashmark, after making field goals from 39 and 44 yards.

* Former Arizona left tackle Jordan Morgan, who is preparing for the upcoming NFL Draft on Thursday, was in attendance for practice. Ex-Wildcats quarterback Ortege Jenkins, the creator of the celebrated "Leap by the Lake" play against Washington in 1998, also attended.
