Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Javin Whatley (6) makes the grab over a pad as the receivers run through a drill during their pre-season training camp, August 12, 2025, Tucson, Ariz.

With just under two weeks left until the season opener, Arizona reached the game preparation portion of training camp.

We can't spill the secrets, but here are notes and observations from Arizona's 16th training camp practice at Davis Sports Center and Dick Tomey Practice Fields.

* Chattanooga transfer wide receiver Javin "Nunu" Whatley caught a 60-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Noah Fifita. Whatley had several chunk plays on Tuesday. Texas State transfer running back Ismail Mahdi also had multiple chunk runs — two between the tackles.

* West Virginia transfer defensive back Ayden Garnes jumped a pass and intercepted Fifita.

* Cerritos College transfer defensive tackle Leroy Palu tackled running back Kedrick Reescano for a loss of 3 yards.

* Several players who missed multiple training camp practices participated on Tuesday. Those players were Montana transfer linebacker Riley Wilson, freshman running back Cornelius Warren, wide receiver Chris Hunter and defensive tackle Jarra Anderson.

* Former Arizona and NFL offensive lineman Glenn Parker attended practice.
