Even though Arizona doesn’t have a game this weekend, you can still turn on your TV and find several former Wildcats in action courtesy of the transfer portal.
Some ex-UA players are standouts at their current stops, like running back Jonah Coleman, who led Arizona in rushing in the 10-win season in 2023.
Coleman currently ranks third in the Big Ten in rushing this season with 288 yards; his seven rushing touchdowns rank first in the conference. Coleman and former Arizona quarterback signee Demond Williams have the Huskies out to a 2-0 start in former UA head coach Jedd Fisch’s second season at the helm.
Washington looks to avenge last season’s loss to former Pac-12 foe and longtime rival Washington State in the Apple Cup Saturday afternoon in Pullman.
Other past Wildcats that are still playing college football include Arizona State defensive tackle Jacob Kongaika, Washington wide receiver Kevin Green and Nevada defensive back DJ Warnell, who transferred to Indiana following the 2023 season.
Here’s a look at some of the Wildcats who transferred after the 2024 season and are in the first season at their new school:
Washington cornerback Tacario Davis in action against Colorado State, Aug. 30, 2025, in Seattle.
Tacario Davis, CB
Current school: Washington
The rundown: Davis entered the transfer portal amid the coaching change between Fisch and the Brent Brennan regime, and practiced with the Wildcats in the spring, even though he was in the transfer portal.
In his second season at Arizona in 2023, Davis grew into one of the top defensive backs nationally and led the Pac-12 in pass breakups (16) and received an 87.5 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus. Davis was Arizona’s highest-graded (85.5) defensive Wildcat on PFF for the ‘23 season and received second-team Associated Press All-Pac-12 honors.
Last season, Davis was an All-Big 12 Second-Team selection and logged a career-high 43 tackles — 28 solo tackles — and six pass deflections. Davis was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week and Jim Thorpe National Defensive Back of the Week after his five-pass breakup performance in Arizona’s upset win over 10th-ranked Utah in Salt Lake City.
Now at Washington, Davis is sharing the defensive secondary with former UA teammate Ephesians Prysock. Davis has a tackle and an interception this season. His interception this season matches his career total at Arizona from 2022-24.
Arizona linebacker Justin Flowe (10) stands on the field during the second half against Washington State, Oct. 14, 2023, in Pullman, Wash.
Justin Flowe, LB
Current school: UNLV
The rundown: Flowe, a former highly touted recruit who started his career at Oregon, transferred to Arizona for the 2023 season and recorded a career-high 44 total tackles (13 solo, 31 assists) with two stops for loss and a sack. His production tapered off in the second half of Arizona’s 10-win season. Flowe was a standout performer against run-heavy teams, but often struggled in pass coverage.
Flowe appeared in four games as a special teams contributor in 2024, before redshirting and transferring to UNLV after spring practices earlier this year. Flowe, who is mostly playing special teams at UNLV, has nine tackles and a pass deflection in three games for the Dan Mullen-coached Rebels.
Colorado running back Brandon Hood (26) beats Arizona wide receiver Jackson Holman (9) to the Wildcats' game-opening onside kick attempt Oct. 19, 2024, in Tucson.
Jackson Holman, WR
Current school: Wyoming
The rundown: The Orange County, California native appeared in seven games last season, but didn’t record any offensive stats. Holman was primarily a special teams player and was on the list of blunders caused by Arizona’s special teams units last season. Holman was in position to recover an onside kick against Colorado on the opening kickoff, but didn’t jump on the ball in time.
The 6-3, 206-pound Holman has five catches for 82 yards at Wyoming this season. Wyoming faces Colorado in Boulder on Saturday.
Arizona Wildcats defensive lineman Isaiah Johnson (91) works with the linemen at a practice session at Arizona Stadium on Aug. 9, 2024.
Isaiah Johnson, DT
Current school: North Carolina
The rundown: The 6-2, 275-pound Johnson appeared in 10 games last season for Arizona and missed some time after suffering a leg injury in pregame warmups leading up to the Wildcats’ blowout loss to Colorado. The Chandler product had nine tackles and two sacks last season as a redshirt sophomore.
Johnson transferred to North Carolina for head coach Bill Belichick’s first season, which is off to a 2-1 start with two straight wins over Charlotte and Richmond, outscoring both teams by a combined 61-9. Johnson has 11 tackles as one of North Carolina’s top interior defensive linemen.
Fresno State quarterback E.J. Warner (13) hands the ball off to running back Rayshon Luke (2) during the first half, Aug. 23, 2025, in Lawrence, Kan.
Rayshon ‘Speedy’ Luke, RB
Current school: Fresno State
The rundown: Luke was limited in the first four games of last season, so the undersized running back from Los Angeles redshirted and sat out for the rest of the season but participated as a scout-team running back. Luke is 48 yards away from eclipsing his career total this season. Luke has 36 carries for 224 yards and five touchdowns. He also has 12 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Luke broke out for 96 yards and three touchdowns in Fresno State’s 42-14 win over Georgia Southern last month. He has scored a touchdown in three straight games. Luke leads Fresno State against Hawaii, Arizona’s season-opening opponent, on Saturday at 9 p.m.

Gunner Maldonado, S
Current school: Kansas State
The rundown: The all-time Wildcat — seriously, with stops at Northwestern, Arizona and Kansas State — returned to Tucson last week and was on the losing side of Arizona’s 23-17 win over KSU. Maldonado has six tackles in four games, including a shoelace tackle on UA running back Ismail Mahdi that prevented a long touchdown.
The Chandler native was a mainstay in Arizona’s defense for three seasons after he started his all-Wildcat career at Northwestern. Maldonado had 175 tackles, four interceptions, eight pass deflections, six forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in four years at Arizona.
Maldonado’s most notable play at Arizona was an 87-yard fumble return for a touchdown that sparked Arizona’s come-from-behind victory over Oklahoma in the 2023 Alamo Bowl.
Media asks questions of Arizona linebacker Jacob Manu on Day 2 of Big 12 football Media Days on July 10, 2024, at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.

The rundown: Manu became a household name at Arizona in 2023, when he became the first Arizona linebacker since Scooby Wright III to lead the Pac-12 in tackles. Manu has 206 tackles and 7.5 sacks in his college career.
The former Arizona star linebacker has yet to play a game for the Huskies this season and is still recovering from a season-ending knee injury he suffered last season against Colorado. Fisch hinted at Manu potentially making his Washington debut in the Apple Cup on Saturday.
San Jose State wide receiver Malachi Riley (11) runs a route against Central Michigan in the second quarter, Aug. 29, 2025 in San Jose, Calif.

This season, Uiagalelei started both games at UW and has four quarterback pressures in 66 defensive snaps, according to PFF.
