- Wells Fargo: Habitat for Humanity Tucson and Wells Fargo joined forces in January to improve 100 homes alongside veterans. Wells Fargo team members have volunteered more than 315,000 hours to build and improve more than 2,100 Habitat homes with low-income homeowners, seniors and veterans since 2010. The Wells Fargo Housing Foundation donated more than $44 million from 2010-2016 to Habitat locally and nationally, of which $14 million has supported national programs with Habitat for Humanity International.
- Caliber Collision and Geico: The two companies, in partnership with the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides program, have teamed up to repair and donate a vehicle to a Tucson veteran or military service member in need. Geico is donating the vehicle, which is being refurbished by Caliber Collision. The Tucson recipient will be presented with the vehicle in March. Nominations for veterans, active duty service members and Gold Star family members are being accepted now through Feb. 14. Nominees must have a valid driver’s license, be able to obtain and maintain insurance, and demonstrate financial need. For more information, visit tinyurl.com/vetrides.
- Risas Dental and Braces: In honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month, the local dental care office will offer free exams and X-rays to all Tucson children 17 and under, regardless of their insurance situation, through the month of February. Risas Dental and Braces will also be educating students on proper oral health care at a number of Tucson-area schools. Parents can make an appointment for the free exam and X-rays in person at 2901 S. Sixth Ave., by calling 357-0330 or by booking online at risasdental.com.
