Three people were killed and two were critically injured in a crash Saturday evening between a vehicle and a semi-tractor trailer near the Arizona-New Mexico border, authorities say.
The crash happened about 5 p.m. while both the vehicle and semi were traveling west on Interstate-10 near San Simon. The wreck killed three passengers in the vehicle and injured two more, said Bart Graves, a spokesman for the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The condition of the tractor-trailerβs driver was not immediately available.
The crash led to the closure of westbound lanes until about 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
