What: Ben’s Bells promotes kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is β€œbelled.”

Last week’s recipient: Eleanor Howard.

Nominated by: Amy Collinsworth.

Why: Eleanor is just 5 years old but wanted to help impoverished children. She raised money by selling her artwork to purchase ducks through the World Vision website. The animals can be used by children and families for eggs and to raise ducklings for sale. β€œIt touches my heart completely that someone Eleanor’s age would want to spend their own money on a gift for a person that she will never meet,” Collinsworth wrote in her nomination letter.

β€œShe is only 5 but already has a heart full of kindness and empathy.”
