Burlington will move into the Circle Plaza Shopping Center, in the former Bealls store space.

With plans to open 100 new stores across the country in the next two years, Burlington is planning one on Tucson’s east side.

The discount retailer leased 21,580 square feet of space in the Circle Plaza Shopping Center, 7160 E. Broadway, at the corner of Kolb Road.

The landlord, Larsen Baker, was represented by its broker Isaac Figueroa and Mike Polacheck, with SRS Real Estate Partners, represented the tenant.

Burlington management announced plans for 100 new stores for 2024 and 2025, as sales increased 10% last year.

Its CEO reported to investors that lower-income customers and the β€œneed-a-deal” shoppers are driving sales. The company is eyeing vacated Bed, Bath and Beyond locations as part of its expansion.

The new Tucson store is expected to open next year in the space formerly occupied by Bealls.

  • bought 4,324 square feet of office space at Rillito Crossing Corporate Centre, 3987 E. Paradise Falls Drive, from Rale Offices LLC for $1 million. Jason Shaltiel, with Picor, represented the buyer and Georgina Plante, with Rising Real Estate Services LLC, represented the seller.
  • Zain Investments LLC bought the vacant commercial building at 4660-4668 E. Speedway for $700,000 with plans to renovate the space. The seller, Speedway Swan Investors LLC, an affiliate of Larsen Baker, was represented by Isaac Figueroa.

Tucson Awning & Screen

  • bought the former Washington Federal Bank building at 1315 W. Prince Road for $600,000 to open a new shop. Jeramy Price, with Volk Co., handled the sale between Grant Wash LLC and Ypon Rentals LLC.
  • The owner of
Spirit Aerospace
  • bought two lots south of Valencia Road; one at 6925 S. Tucson Blvd. the other at 6967 S. Tucson Blvd. for $342,500. Gordon Wagner and Ben Craney, from NAI Horizon, handled the sale.

Spirit Halloween Superstores

  • LLC leased 33,630 square feet of retail space at Oracle Plaza, 6310 N. Oracle Road, Oracle Plaza LLC. Natalie Furrier and Greg Furrier, with Picor, represented the landlord.
  • Snowdrop Korean Shaved Ice leased 1,200 square feet at Campbell Plaza, on the northeast corner of Campbell Avenue and Glenn Street, from DSW IREIF Tucson Retail Owner LLC. Dave Hammack, Greg Furrier and Natalie Furrier, with Picor, represented the landlord. Kristy Kelley, with Long Realty Co., represented the tenant.

Daiso β€” the popular Japanese discount store β€” opened its first Tucson store today/ Hundreds of eager Tucson shoppers lined up for the grand opening, with some shoppers getting in line as early as 5 a.m. for the 9 a.m. opening. The line snaked around the shopping center and was holding steady an hour after opening. Daiso is located in the Ventana Village Shopping Center, 6884 E. Sunrise Drive, in the 10,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Tuesday Morning.
