As an elementary teacher, special educator and principal, I am appalled with the president's attempt to reassure listeners that we need more gun control. These words will move us in the opposite direction necessary to stop any bad guys. Why do you think the "gun free" zones are the most vulnerable? Why do the calm, no-one-hurt robberies and attempts not make the news? When the bad guy opens gunfire on a group of people, he will think twice if he does not know who may shoot back!
Personally, I am so thankful for the conceal and carry class that I took last year and I want everyone to be informed of the thinking processes of criminals. We must be more prepared to defend ourselves so that heroes can be successful at stopping out-of-control shooters, rather than making more victims. I am not trying to promote more guns, but I do uphold the rights of the Constitution and Bill of Rights on which this country was founded.
