New Arizona women’s basketball coach Becky Burke has picked up her second transfer commitment.
Cleveland State guard Mickayla Perdue, the 2024-25 Horizon League Player of the Year, announced via social media Tuesday that she’s headed to Tucson.
Perdue, a 5-foot-6 guard, spent the past two seasons at Cleveland State. She averaged a career-high 20 points per game last season, plus 3.3 assists and 1.7 steals. She shot 34.9% from 3-point range and 81.8% from the foul line with the Vikings.
Cleveland State guard Mickayla Perdue, the 2024-25 Horizon League Player of the Year, announced via social media Tuesday that she’s headed to Arizona to play for Becky Burke.
Perdue scored 19 points in a semifinal loss in the WNIT to Buffalo, Burke’s former school. The Bulls went on to win the WNIT championship.
Perdue, who’s from Springfield, Ohio, began her college career at Toledo. She spent one season at Division II Glenville State, where she averaged 17.7 points per game.
Perdue joins guard Noelani Cornfield in Arizona’s transfer class, which likely will grow into the double digits as Burke builds a roster that had only one recruited scholarship player, Montaya Dew, when she took the UA job last week.
Both Perdue and Cornfield, who played for Burke at Buffalo, have one season of eligibility remaining.
