The Core at La Encantada is offering free classes about women's health.

If you're lacking in the self-care department, Tucson Medical Center is on to you.

That's why May is Women's Health Month. It's time for some TLC.

"We use the month of May to highlight the importance of women taking care of themselves as they are often caretakers for others," says Tara Bruce, the assistant manager of retail and wellness outreach at The Core, a Tucson Medical Center wellness hub at La Encantada.

The campaign started three years ago with a focus on moms β€” Mother's Day, anyone? β€” but has since expanded to educate women in all life stages.

In particular, The Core wants to engage millennial women, a demographic not usually targeted by the hospital.

"We often forget that just because you don't need medical care now doesn't mean there aren't things you can be doing in your 20s and 30s to make healthcare connections," Bruce says.

The classes affiliated with Women's Health Month are all free and mostly hosted at The Core,  2905 East Skyline Drive in Suite 277 on the second floor.
