New details about an Oct. 31 pursuit in which a deputy fired at a fleeing vehicle has been released by the multi-agency team that investigates local use-of-force incidents.
There were no injuries.
The incident started about 3:50 p.m. when a Pima County Sheriff's Department deputy tried to stop a vehicle near South Houghton and East Fort Lowell roads for a traffic violation, according to the Pima Regional Critical Incident Team report.
The chase eventually involved several deputies and stretched across several locations across the far southeast side.
At one point, the driver fled from deputies at a convenience store near South Houghton and East Drexel roads, hitting multiple vehicles in the parking lot and nearly pinning a woman between two cars, the report said.
During another attempted stop, Deputy Gina Lumia, a 12-year veteran of the department, fired a shot toward the vehicle, the report said. No one was struck.

Deputies eventually used spike strips to immobilize the vehicle near the community of Rocking K Ranch and took the teen driver into custody, the report said.
Gianni Angelo Salvato, 17, was treated at the scene for minor injuries and eventually booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of endangerment and one count of felony flight from police, the report said.
The Oro Valley and Tucson police departments have been assigned primary responsibility for the criminal investigation. The completed investigation will be sent to the Pima County Attorney's Office, which is standard procedure.
The sheriff's department will conduct a separate administrative investigation to determine if department policies were followed.
