A 23-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash while riding down Catalina Highway Saturday afternoon, authorities say.
About 3 p.m., Ethan Jennings was traveling south on the highway "at a high rate of speed" when he when he went off the road at a curve and struck a rock face, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.
Jennings was thrown from the motorcycle and landed on the center lane. He died at the crash scene, the release said.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
