A federal grand jury has indicted a 22-year-old Tucson on several charges related to firearms and trafficking cocaine, authorities say.
Jesus Antonio Najar faces five charges in the indictment: conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine; possession with intent to distribute cocaine; carrying of a firearm during a drug crime; having a firearm with an obliterated serial number; and possession of unregistered firearms, specifically a machine gun, a short-barreled rifle, and a silencer, a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona says.
The first incidents listed in the indictment stretch from October 2023 to April. On April 19, Najar was in a stolen car and officers found a device used to convert "a semi-automatic weapon into a fully automatic weapon," the release said.
In addition, officers said they found a pistol with its serial number removed as well as silencers inside the stolen vehicle, according to the indictment.
