Arizona landed former Memphis defensive tackle Jarra Anderson through the transfer portal.Β

Arizona landed former Memphis defensive lineman Jarra "Bear" Anderson in the transfer portal, he announced on Wednesday.

Anderson took an official visit to the UA last week.Β

The 6-2, 260-pound Anderson, a Katy, Texas native, played one season at Memphis, before entering the transfer portal. Anderson recordedΒ 10 tackles, two stops for loss and 1.5 sacks in 11 games at Memphis. He was named to Pro Football Focus' All-Freshman Team in 2023.Β Β

Anderson is the fourth defensive line addition for the Wildcats through the transfer portal this year, along with former San Jose State edge rusher and All-Mountain West Tre Smith, UC Davis defensive tackle Chubba Ma'ae and Syracuse defensive tackle Kevon Darton, who is joining the team in the summer. Following the loss of starting defensive tackle Bill Norton, who transferred to Texas this week, the Wildcats lost nine scholarship defensive linemen from last season's roster.Β

Arizona's spring game is on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Arizona Stadium, which will also be televised on Pac-12 Network.Β
